Final Poster Version
From showing the final version to a sample of my target audience and others, the comments that I have recieved back is that the image is clear and well suited for the poster. The colourings and enhancements/adjustments that I had done have payed off and give the image a professional quality, but also a quality unlike other posters that are around or have been round. - I have done this intentionally. I did not want to stick to the normal conventions of a romantic film poster, my film wanted/needed to be different to stand out, and to express across to the audience that this film is unlike anything you have seen before therefore you should want to go and see it. That appeal is what I wanted to create and I think that I can justify my reasoning, and I think I can safely say that I have achieved it well.- However there were some criticisms that i will take on board. The Cast text at the bottom of the page is not suitable, a more approriate text at the bottom would have been one that is used in other posters for films. As a result of this observation I will be changing it, however this will not necessarily change the out look of the poster at this time. Someone else pointed out that there was no background, perhaps the poster would be better suited if it had a background to bring out the scene and to make the poster more eye catching. However I do disagree with this statement, this is because the shot/ image that I have used in the poster is a medium close up of the two protagonists. It would be incredibly difficult to photoshop a scene behing them that would fit around the fact that there is no bottom half of the image. This would cause huge problems for me, and as I am not a professional I do feel that this task would have been far more superior to my skills that I have developed since I began using photoshop. Also, the person who made the criticism suggested havibng a field scene behing the two, well this would again be unsuitable as at no point in the trailer that I have created is there a field where the two of them are. This then would be a poor idea to put into the film as there would be no reflection of this in the rest of the project. Therefore I feel that having no background behind the two is far more dramatic, far more focussed on the models and far more fitting for the trailer that I am creating.
